BOSSIER CITY, La. — Today, Gov. John Bel Edwards and CSRA Chief Information Officer John Dancy announced CSRA will establish a Customer Engagement Center in Bossier City to support the next-generation IT solutions and professional services provided by the company. CSRA will create 300 new direct jobs supporting federal customers through the project, and LED estimates the project will result in 131 new indirect jobs, for a total of more than 430 new jobs in Northwest Louisiana. The new direct jobs will receive an average annual salary of $22,000, as well as a health-care benefits package valued at $4.27 per hour, which employees will have the option of replacing with cash compensation.
The Customer Engagement Center will be located in the Capital One Building at 301 Benton Road in Bossier City. CSRA plans to hire 150 positions within the first year, occupying the first floor of the office. The company will extend customer service operations into the second floor of the Capital One Building in mid-2017 and reach employment of 300 positions within 24 months. CSRA was formed through the combination of CSC’s North American Public Sector business and SRA International in November 2015. Also in Bossier City, the CSRA Integrated Technology Center – a new 96,000-square-foot facility announced by CSC in February 2014 – will open in late 2016 at the National Cyber Research Park. The ITC project will create an additional 800 new direct jobs.
“CSRA is a prime example of a major IT company that truly understand the benefits of investing in Louisiana,” Gov. Edwards said. “With the completion of its Integrated Technology Center in Bossier City scheduled for later this year, the company already has established roots and has been operating for two years in temporary space in the research park’s Cyber Innovation Center. The confidence that CSRA has expressed in our state is a testament to companies around the country and around the world that Louisiana represents a prime location for new and expanding technology investments.”
Many of the roles created by the new CSRA Customer Engagement Center will be geared for entry-level applicants but be positioned for advancement. At the center, CSRA will encourage training and educational opportunities to support customer service representatives and position them over time for advancement to the 800-job CSRA Integrated Technology Center. Those training efforts will assist the company in its mission to recruit and retain talent in Northwest Louisiana.
“When we first decided to establish roots in Bossier City several years ago, we saw it as an opportunity to influence, equip and prepare the upcoming workforce of next-generation IT professionals,” said Chief Information Officer John Dancy of CSRA. “The return on investment in Bossier City has been immeasurable. Our employees there are working hard every day to solve our customers’ toughest challenges. We have also developed really solid partnerships with prominent local organizations and educational institutions, like the Greater Bossier Economic Development Foundation and Bossier Parish Community College, who were critical to our success as we considered expanding our workforce by 300 additional employees. We remain committed to bringing jobs and economic growth to Bossier City and we’re eager to continue building brilliant teams who will help us lead our federal government customers into their digital futures.”
LED began discussing the Customer Engagement Center project with CSRA in August 2015. To secure the project, the State of Louisiana offered the company a competitive incentive package that includes the comprehensive solutions of LED FastStart® – the nation’s top-ranked state workforce development program.
“We are delighted that our growing partnership with CSRA has resulted in Bossier City being chosen as the new location for their Customer Engagement Center,” said Bossier City Mayor Lo Walker. “This investment in Bossier City represents an opportunity for 120 jobs immediately and up to 300 jobs over the next 24 months. As their ITC facility nears completion in the National Cyber Research Park, and with this announcement to retrofit the former Capital One Building in Bossier, CSRA has placed their stamp of approval saying that Bossier means business, and we welcome them in our community.”
“The Greater Bossier Economic Development Foundation is proud to welcome a new division of CSRA, expanding on their already significant corporate presence in Bossier City,” said Chairman Gary Hubbard of the Greater Bossier Economic Development Foundation. “We want to thank them for selecting Bossier to locate their Customer Engagement Center and assure them we stand ready to assist them in this venture. Our partners at the city/parish and Bossier Parish Community College are delighted about these new job opportunities here in Bossier and know that CSRA will enjoy years of success, not only with the new ITC in our National Cyber Research Park, but also with this new Customer Engagement Center. CSRA has chosen to make these multiple investments representing a grand total of 1,100 potential jobs and many millions of dollars of investment for Bossier and our region.”
“It is exciting to see the continued expansion of employment opportunities being created through the partnership with CSRA,” said Executive Director and President Craig Spohn of the Cyber Innovation Center in Bossier City. “The recognition and reaffirmation of the high-quality labor market here in North Louisiana is particularly gratifying. It’s nice to have others recognize the value and quality of that which we here in Louisiana always knew was the case. The Cyber Innovation Center remains committed to supporting CSRA and working with them to ensure their continued growth and success.”
