SULPHUR, La. — LACC and Lotte Chemical Louisiana, supported by LED FastStart®, will conduct a job fair on Thursday, Aug. 24 in Sulphur. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the West Cal Event Center, 401 Arena Road.
The event will seek to fill job openings for chemical process operators and utilities positions for an ethane cracking facility and an ethylene glycol facility. Candidates must be 18 or older and have a high school diploma, GED certification or equivalent. A two-year vocational-technical degree is preferred, plus a minimum of two years of chemical plant experience.
Candidates must be willing to work rotating shifts and holidays, work well with team members, and show a willingness to learn. Candidates will be required to pass a drug screening, physical examination and background check.

LACC, is building a $1.9 billion ethane cracker complex in Calcasieu Parish. Using a portion of the ethylene produced at that plant, Lotte Chemical Louisiana will produce ethylene glycol at a $1.1 billion plant being constructed beside the ethane cracker. Both companies are subsidiaries of Lotte Chemical USA.
