The Mission 

Headquartered in Diamond Bar, California, Niagara supplies some of the largest beverage brands, retailers, grocers, and convenience stores in the U.S. with a variety of beverages, including sparkling vitamin and flavored waters, teas, sports drinks, ready-to-drink coffee, protein drinks, non-dairy milk products and bottled water. The company operates more than 40 production facilities with more than 7,000 employees worldwide.

The Challenge

Niagara Bottling sought to establish a new production facility equipped with advanced technology to increase production efficiency and allow the company to meet growing demand.

The Opportunity

Louisiana offered Niagara a competitive incentives package that included:

Recruitment and training support from Louisiana’s nationally recognized workforce development program, LED FastStart.

Performance-based forgivable loan of $750,000 through the Economic Development Award Program to support infrastructure improvements.

Up to a 6 percent rebate on annual payroll expenses for up to 10 years, and a 1.5 percent project facility expense rebate for qualifying expenses, through the state’s Quality Jobs program.

Qualified 80-percent property tax abatement for up to 10 years through the state’s Industrial Tax Exemption Program, contingent on meeting job creation and payroll commitments.
